Why are my links not opening in my GIS?

If your links are not opening or you are receiving errors when you select them it could be for a variety of things. Some of the errors are acceptable and could mean that there is simply no document there, others require assistance from IT.

 

Acceptable Errors –

There is no document, or it needs to be linked again in the Smart Editor:

1.       When you click a link and it opens a new map,

2.       When an error says “not found”,

3.       When a link results in a pop up that involves some variation of \\nd1\\... \\ …pdf

a.       This file is no longer on the server and a different one needs to be linked again using the Smart Editor.

 

 

 

 

 

Get assistance from IT if needed –

The Chrome Extension has somehow been disabled:

1.       When a link is selected and nothing happens.

a.       Look at the top right-hand corner of your browser for the puzzle piece. Select it > Manage Extensions

b.       Remove the extension               

c.       Google search this extension:

d.       Setup to match the photo below.

 

e.    Download the integration module (With IT’s help and login).

f.       Once complete with the setup, start over in a new browser to refresh the settings.
